The project kicks off with - thinking. 🤔
Days 001 - 007 are reserved for ideation and research. During this time the plan is to put enough pieces in place to be able to start shipping = publishing content.
I jumped the gun and started with one of the awareness strategies I'm planning to use 😯 Commenting. I'm commenting on tweets and articles that jump out at me while doing research. Just a little.
Why I didn't immediately start posting something on social media - from Day 001?
The content that I'll create must align with the brand's core narrative. I don't have that yet - it's work in progress.
I don't need to have this completely fleshed out, but I need to have some guardrails so that the content is aligned.
You know when people say:
I don't know what to post?
This is one reason why 👉 no strategy.
No strategy = staring at the screen trying to think of something to post which may result in random/subpar posts. 🥱
A strategy helps me save time and most importantly to stay on topic! Also, a strategy makes creating content as easy as possible.
📝 There is no one, single right way.
You don't have to follow my strategy. You could just post anything. Just get something up, the sooner the better. It can work too. It can even be the right strategy, especially if you don't have any idea of what niche you want to work in.
For me, the strategy is:
Publish content that is aligned with the core narrative.
👉 Provide value.
The focus is on a customer-first strategy. Always. This is part of my OS. Customers first. Audience first.
One of the most important things in building anything is CONSISTENCY.
You need to put in the work - in whatever interval your strategy calls for.
Want to lose momentum? Disappear for a while.
Out of sight. Out of mind.
Building momentum is especially important in the beginning when you don't have an audience. Once you reach a certain threshold, you can adjust your strategy as seen fit.
Knowing this, I'm putting in place a process for content creation that makes it easy to stay consistent.
👉 content calendar.
During these first days, I'm creating the content calendar so that I can stay consistent in publishing content.
Once you start shipping, keep shipping.
Recognize your patterns.
I know that I love to post something when it crosses my mind. Right at that instant.
But, this is not a sustainable strategy. After a lot of back and forth today, thinking about where and how I should keep all my notes while making it insanely easy, I finally settled with Trello.
I seriously spent way too much time making this decision today. I thought about using Notion, Google Docs, Evernote, pen, and paper...
I wanted the simplest, easiest system to use to keep ideas and content organized. So, Trello it is (for now anyway).

🧩 PUZZLE PIECES
Recognize your time wasters. Some things, regardless of how much time you spend on them, won't move you forward.
